Description
A silver color metal and enamel device 1 1/4 inches (3.18 cm) in height overall consisting of a silver castle above a white cross between two maroon crosses in fess; all above a triparted maroon motto scroll arching from the outer arms of the two maroon crosses and bearing the words STRIVING TO SUPPORT in silver letters.

Symbolism
Maroon and white are the colors traditionally associated with the Medical branch.  The three crosses refer to the units mission of providing medical supply, optical fabrication and maintenance support.  The castle is taken from the coat of arms of the city of Pirmasens, Germany, and alludes to the units home area and also symbolizes the units support within the 7th Medical Command for European defense.

Background
The distinctive unit insignia was approved on 5 October 1983.
